Robert Laird, Col., USA, Ret.

Bob Laird is the immediate past executive director of Tepeyac Family Center, a nonprofit, pro-life OB-GYN practice in northern Virginia. Bob serves on the Board of Directors of the WitnessWorks Foundation for a Culture of Life and is also serves on the Board of Directors of the Couple to Couple League. He is a regular contributor to the WitnessWorks Foundation's ongoing dialogue, Veritatis Splendor and is a Fellow at HLI America.

A graduate from the U.S. Military Academy, Bob is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and nuclear engineer who in 1992 led a American delegation to Russia to assist in nuclear weapons removal. He taught Physics and was an Assistant Professor of Nuclear Engineering at U.S. Military Academy from 1978 through 1982.

Bob devoted 13 years of service to the Office of Family Life in the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, including six years as its director. He expanded the Family Life office from 4 employees to 15, and accordingly expanded the respect life, marriage preparation and Natural Family Planning programs. He initiated a young adult program that included the popular "Theology on Tap" series and launched Project Rachel, a post-abortion healing ministry, as well as Gabriel Project, a parish-based crisis pregnancy program.

In 2005, Bob took the helm at Tepeyac Family Center, where he organized the expansion of the practice from three practicing physicians to six creating a business model which combines an authentically pro-life practice with excellent medicine while caring for insured, under insured and uninsured patients. He is also the immediate past executive director of Divine Mercy Care, a nonprofit medical organization bringing Catholic health care to Northern Virginia.

Bob and his wife, Gerri Laird, have taught natural family planning since 1984, and they have five children and six grandchildren.
