Gerri Laird

Gerri Laird serves on the Board of Directors of the WitnessWorks Foundation for a Culture of Life. She has been a wife for over 40 years, and she is a mother of five children, grandmother of six children. Gerri directed for nearly 10 years Project Rachel (post-abortion counseling) at the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia. She is a regular contributor to the WitnessWorks Foundation's ongoing dialogue, Veritatis Splendor.

Gerri assisted the Couple to Couple League in re-writing and editing its new Student Guide and Teaching Guide on the Art of Natural Family Planning, to include the new Postpartum and Premenopause Student and Teaching Guides, and she and her husband, Bob Laird, are CCL-certified instructors in Natural Family Planning.

Gerri has also worked for two years in the Gabriel Project (a parish-based pregnancy assistance program), again at the Diocese of Arlington, and she served as coordinator of education and training for the Diocese, adapting all educational programs within the office to Blessed Pope John Paul II's new theological construct.

Gerri has written and spoken extensively on numerous topics related to family life, such as marital intimacy, natural family planning, parenting, motherhood, the role of women in the Church, chastity, post-abortion healing, and "Reframing the Abortion Debate." Her audiences have included teens, young adults/singles/college students, engaged couples, married couples, mothers' groups, medical professionals, and clergy. At the request of her children, Gerri has also given hands-on nutrition presentations to second and fourth grade students.
